My mother was born in melton road in 1933 - sadly she died last Christmas. The house she was born in was called Belgaum apparently named after mr grandfather's place where he served in WW1.the house was built in 1923 and is still there but has been re-named. I visited the road last year shortly before my mother's death.
Could I please have a copy of this picture as well of the one of Reigate station?
Thank you
Cathy

My mother (Jeanne Deverill) was also born in Melton Rd and lived in the first house, shown on the left, which was called Rubyjean. The small child in the photo, is I believe my Aunt, Lorna Deverill. When these houses were built, there was a Farm at the bottom of the lane, which is now Orpin Rd.

What a fascinating old photo! Anthea: My family have lived at 'Rubyjean' (now second house) since the mid 80's, and I would be interested to hear any history you might have about the property, especially the garden which I once heard was part of a tennis club... If the admin would pass on my email address it would be great to hear from you.
