"This photograph was taken about 1930. It embraces the railway embankment (Reading branch line), part of the
North Downs - Colley Hill. For centuries the district has been well wooded, and this is still a notable feature
of the Reigate area.
The countryside as viewed from the North Downs is most interesting, and on a fine day the
South Downs and other hills fringing the coastline can clearly be seen.
